Positioned in the Canary Islands, the initiative brings together a consortium of industrial players from 3 EU Member States, each contributing specialised expertise across launch operations, pad engineering, payload integration, satellite systems, offshore infrastructure, and spaceport management, with the objective of jointly developing and validating a European offshore launch capability reaching TRL8 readiness. The effort combines offshore launch operations, port-based integration, reusable launch support, and integrated logistics and operational
services under a single European framework, contributing to the EU’s objectives of technological sovereignty, strategic autonomy, industrial resilience, and secure access to critical space infrastructure.
In parallel, the consortium works closely with local and national institutional partners and associated entities, including regional authorities, port ecosystems, and Spanish institutions, whose collaboration is essential to enabling operational deployment, regulatory coordination, infrastructure integration, and long-term implementation within Europe’s Atlantic territory.
